Country Music Roundup 2014

15 March, 2014 by Long Flat Admin

14,15,16th March 2014 – HCMA Annual Country Music Roundup and Wauchoe RSL Talent Quest.Wauchope Annual Country Music Roundup 2014

Roundup 2014 promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

We do this for two reasons – to promote country music and to raise much needed funds for worthwhile local charities. Over the past 10 years we have been able to share over $50,000 with organisations that provide services to our community.

Saturday, 15th March, starting at 9am, in the auditorium of the Star Hotel Wauchope, recording artist, Angus Gill, will be hosting the Junior Showcase. This is a fantastic opportunity for young artists to get experience on stage under lights. If you want to be a performer it’s absolutely essential that you get experience in performing with microphones  and amplification.

Following the Jnr Showcase, at around noon, there will be an open mic. Session for all performers of country music. Get there early and watch our young performers, grab some lunch and start performing. This will get you ready for the big evening Roundup Concert.

7pm on Saturday night there is the 35th Annual Roundup Concert starring Amos Morris. This is the only show of the weekend that has an entry fee which is $10pp (tickets available at the door) As we expect a crowd please get there early!  Please check the “Programme” page for full details.

Water tanks dry while carrier overflows

1 October, 2012 by Long Flat Admin

water truckContinuing warm and dry weather across the Mid North Coast, has seen those who rely on tank water having to purchase water and cartage.

Tony Brown owns Hastings Valley Water Carriers has said he it’s been the busiest in three years, delivering water to residents on Port Macquarie’s North Shore and areas west of Wauchope.

“I haven’t done any water for the last two years sort of thing and it’s just getting back into practice of doing it now, it’s just been dry,’ he said.

“Oh like across the river at Port Macquarie, all round up at Yarras, Comboyne, Pappinbarra, it’s all been dry, it’s been dry.”

Due to the dry winter many tank user residents are now paying for water cartage, and Mr Brown expects the demand for water will increase over the hotter months.
