Water tanks dry while carrier overflows

1 October, 2012 by Long Flat Admin

water truckContinuing warm and dry weather across the Mid North Coast, has seen those who rely on tank water having to purchase water and cartage.

Tony Brown owns Hastings Valley Water Carriers has said he it’s been the busiest in three years, delivering water to residents on Port Macquarie’s North Shore and areas west of Wauchope.

“I haven’t done any water for the last two years sort of thing and it’s just getting back into practice of doing it now, it’s just been dry,’ he said.

“Oh like across the river at Port Macquarie, all round up at Yarras, Comboyne, Pappinbarra, it’s all been dry, it’s been dry.”

Due to the dry winter many tank user residents are now paying for water cartage, and Mr Brown expects the demand for water will increase over the hotter months.
