Winner stripped of Wauchope Cup Victory

9 October, 2012 by Long Flat Admin

Horse Racing starting gatesKinetics (6year old chestnut gelding) trained by Graham Payne has been stripped of it Wauchope Cup victory.  Official stewards found excessive concentrations of testosterone in a post-race urine sample.

Mr. Payne has pleaded not guilty to a charge under AR178 in the Australian Racing Board’s Rules of Racing.  Mr Payne has requested that the hearing of the charge be adjourned so that he may take legal advice, which was granted.  The inquiry was adjourned to 1pm on Tuesday, 23rd October 2012.

Acting under the powers of AR 177 Kinetics was disqualified from its first placing in the Australian Wauchope Cup on the 17th June 2012 and the placings were amended:-
