Port Macquarie & Wauchope Lifeline Shops are currently experiencing a shortage of volunteers in their shops. We are seeking volunteers who are able to use their skills and experiences and share their time and talents and make a difference in the lives of people who need to utilise services that Lifeline provide to the community.
Volunteers in the Port Macquarie Lifeline shops have the knowledge that they are helping the global environment as well as the local community. Shopping at Lifeline is environmentally friendly and purchasing second hand goods not only helps those who are financially vulnerable and marginalised, it also reduces the amount of textiles and household items delivered to land fill.
Lifeline encourages young people to consider volunteering at a Lifeline Shop or special event. We recognise that young people have unique needs and expectations and desire variety, challenge, fun and flexibility.Proceeds of all goods sold through the shops are channelled back into the work of Lifeline. Lifeline receives 1,250 telephone calls a day from Australians in need of support. Sadly up to 50 of these calls are from people at high risk of suicide. Lifeline provides an Online Crisis Support Chat that is available for people who prefer to seek help this way – one on one “live” chat with a trained crisis supporter.
This is a great opportunity to give something back to the community. To register your interest, please contact:
The shops are located at:
